PRIDE
Shame is a condition strongly interlinked with the society we live in: in another country, in another time, things that make us feel shame “HERE” would be largely accepted “THERE”. Intersex people, in a lot of cases, feel shame about their body, they live in a condition that the society does not accept, they cannot integrate themselves into a binary society which is not even aware of their existence.
A lot of parents, the first example of “society” that we come into while growing up, tries to keep their children’s condition secret from the world, a lot of times even recurring to medical and hormonal treatment just to try to “adjust” them to what other people are expecting.
The entire concept of the video, other than trying to raise a voice for the babies that still do not have one, is from one side getting inspiration from the Welsh miners that marched in front of the Pride in 1985, proving that pride is something that everybody has inside, and on the other side is trying to remind everybody what the Pride should be about other than a commercial marketing parade that it was accused to be this year.
All of the images are taken from the Pride in London, 2017: the biggest city in Europe, a vibrant heart that is evolving every day with people from all over the world, into a day where the pride gets its most beautiful manifestation.
